The Edge of Destruction After their encounter on Skaro with the Dalkes and the Thals, the Doctor, Ian, Barbara, and Susan return to the TARDIS where they begin to loose sanity after an explosion. The TARDIS guidance system is faulty. The story is character driven more than plot driven, fleshing the characters out much more. The TARDIS will not allow the crew to leave.
These two episodes are unique in the fact that they are to date the only episodes that occur entirely in the TARDIS.
The problem ends up being a spring stuck on a button on the TARDIS console.
