The Sontaran Stratagem

Synopsis

Luke Rattigan, owner of the Rattigan acadamy, is a child genius who developed ATMOS. He is seen throwing out a reporter who had came to investigate and suggesting she be terminated to an unseen person. This person agrees and the reporter is killed in her ATMOS vehichle when it drives itself into a lake.

This episode has the return of Martha Jones as she calls the Doctor for help. Arriving Donna gets to meet the famous Martha and they quickly become friends, but the Doctor and Donna soon find out that Martha has been working for UNIT since parting ways with the Doctor in Last of the Time Lords.

UNIT is storming an ATMOS factory looking for illegal aliens, and needs the Doctors' help in determining where the technology came from. The Doctor can tell that the device is made by a human but way too advanced to be built on its own. He compared it to finding a mobile in the middle ages. Donna notices that not a single factory worker has taken a sick day so UNIT begins interigations. Martha is stunned to find an abnormaly high heartrate and a claim that they work 24 hours a day.

An alien threat is quickly revealed as the Sontarans, who have been fighting the Rutans for 50,000 years. WIth nearly every car on the planet converted to ATMOS, and therefore a weapon UNIT will have to work fast with the Doctors' help to stop the planet from falling to the Sontarans.
