Synopsis

The episode opens on the bustling asian inspired planet of Shan Shen. A fortune teller quickly offers to tell her future but she refuses until she finds out the reading is free for people with red hair. Stepping inside she is asked to tell about the remarkable man she has met. Donna is nervous when she has a very vivid flashback to working as a temp in H.C. Clements but the fortune tellet assures her it is just the insence. She flashes back to the moment she made the decision to work at H.C. Clements over a job her mother had found for her and becomes worried when the Fortune Teller maintains a strong grip on her hands. The Fortune teller tells Donna to go back and turn right, to never meet the Doctor, while a time beetle attatches to her back.

Events then play out as if the Doctor had never met Donna, starting with a christmas party when she should have been facing the Racnoss. Running to the scene UNIT is seen taking away the body of the Doctor, who apparently drowned when he didn't stop attacking in time. Rose runs up and asks what they found and is crushed to find that the Doctor is dead. She continues to look at Donnas' back which annoys Donna untill Rose dissapears.

Donna quits her job when the Judoon use their H2O scoop on the Royal Hope hospital and all but one of the people inside perish. Sarah Jane was reported to have been inside and disarmed the MRI machine when the Plasmavore set it to explode and Martha died while giving the survivor the last of the oxygen.

Rose shows up agian and tells Donna to get out of London, that she won the company lottery and should take the trip. While on vacation a maid continues to tell Donna there's something on her back in spanish while the news says that a model of the Titanic is falling out of the sky. The feed cuts off abruptly and they feel a shock wave. Looking at London they see a giant mushroom cloud.

Being forced to move to Leeds due to the fallout they live in a house with several other families and are forced to sleep in the kitchen. Wilf tells Donna that America is going to bail out Britian but America is soon hit by the Adipose with 6 million dead. Rose shows up agian to tell Donna that Torchwood is up fighting the Sontaran invaders when gas starts pouring from the vehicles. Britian is too poor to have many vehicles but the rest of the world is choking. Seeing the sky light on fire when the Command ship explodes Rose says that all the worlds defenders are gone. Still refusing to go with Rose she is told that the end of reality si coming and she's the only one who can stop it.

The family living with Donna is carted away by the military and Donna is forced to turn around when a soldier sees something on her back. Donna finds that she's not qualified to work for the military and should has tried harder in school. Checking in on Wilf she finds that the stars are going out and tells Rose she's ready.

In UNIT the now dieing Tardis has been recovered and the surface technology salvaged. With it they are able to see the Time Beetle on Donnas' back and find the point that it interfered. Using the Tardis they send her back to make herself turn left but she is told she will die. Realising she's too far away to run to her car she is forced to step infront of a truck to create a traffic jam and cause herself to turn left. Rose gives her a message to give to the Doctor, just two words.

A terrified fortune teller runs away as the Time Beetle drops dead. Donna tells the Doctor about the alternate universe and he thinks that there's too many coincidences surrounding Donna as he met her, her grand dad, and her again. He says she's brilliant and Donna remembers Rose, who never gave her name. Donna says the woman was blond which startles the Doctor and Donna says the message was Bad Wolf. The Doctor runs into the street to see that all the banners say Bad Wolf and even the Tardis writing has changed to Bad Wolf. Inside the Tardis the cloister bell is sounding and the Doctor explains that Bad Wolf is the end of the universe.
